Fight the power! I am not sure I would have done it, and I am not even sure it was the best place to do it either, but it sure made an impact in the rough and tumble 1960’s.
What am I talking about?
Anyway, these are on sale at Mita (never shopped there before, but may have to in order to get these sneakers). I do not know if they are limited or if they will show up in other shops.
Just because the games are over, doesn’t mean the olympic sneakers stop. There seems to be almost a flood of non-sports sneakers that have either come out toward the end of the Olympics or after the olympics is done. here is one of the latter.
The Air Jordan 1 is a classic (and somewhat affordable) sneakers from the guy who basically put sneakers on the map (along with rappers like Run DMC lol). The AJ1 has had many variations of the past couple of years in colorways. I personally have 4 different AJ1’s (Old Love New Love, Alpha Omega, and one pair of that baseball pack… of which I should have gotten both) so I think I am AJ1 done, but I think I will be getting these.
You can see more pictures at Nicekicks or at Hypebeast (if you follow the sneaker blogs like I do you can see them almost everywhere, especially the Fab Four)
I somehow missed the ladies games and in particular the gold metal game. I would have loved to see that for the last time. Lisa Leslie, along with her team, keeps Olympic gold for Team USA and for her final ceremony she wears all four golds on the podiam.
Some of the other players on the team include Tina Thomson, Candace Parker, and Kara Lawson.
Lisa Leslie: First team sport athlete (male or female) in Olympic history to win gold metals in 4 consecutive Olympic games. What an accomplishment.
Most seen sneaker in the finals LOL
Firstly I will admit that I did not know that Team USA lost for the past 8 years… I thought they had a unbroken streak. Secondly I didn’t know that Spain (or anybody outside the US) was that good. I mean Spain was gooooood. If this was an NBA final would Team USA won the best 4 out of 7?
This was a big win. And I might say, since I am grown and sexy, they were successful on AND off the court. I am very proud that they went there and really represented us in the Olympics.
You can see a whole bunch of shots, scores and other data on NBC Olympics (at least in the USA… I think others can go to YouTube to see video). You HAVE to see the pictures. I think the pictures say more than the videos.
And yes, you can see the sneakers they are wearing too in many of the shots. By the way, did anybody notice that when they were playing for the gold that you could only really see the sneakers of the USA team? LMAO On top of that, why in the world, in the OLYMPICS, did they play the theme from the NBA during the breaks? The NBA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! I’m watching the Olympics and I’m hearing the theme when they get to the end of the game.
The American Swimming Team (Go Team USA!!!) has made history, kept history and broke a new world record while doing it. First of all, I was totally not aware that the US swim team never lost the 400M Swim since the inception of the 400 at the Olympics.
That is ALMOST as interesting as what they were wearing on their feet (at least to me lol). I had to rewind the tape a few times (and no, they do not swim in footwear but they did walk out in them) to see them and make sure that what I was looking at was what I was looking at.
And I am still not sure lol
Well, this is what I think they had on:
The only problem here is that the sneaker I saw them wearing looked like it had the Nike swoosh on the upper, not on the midsole. Maybe its the next gen?
Here are the details from Nike:
The shoe of champions. Just like the Beijing athletes who take to the medal stand in Nike Air Rejuven8 LE Men’s Shoe, you too, can enjoy this lightweight, cool-down shoe that’s designed to soothe weary feet.
- Breathable mesh upper for cooling ventilation
- Lightweight Phylon midsole
- Rubber pods outsole for excellent traction
100 Dollars is what this will cost you… and it looks really comfortable.
I do have a few un-footwear related questions though:
- Why would anybody wear sneakers walking to the pool knowing that all you are going to do is swim?
- How did Visa know Micheal Phelps would get 8 Gold metals before he did it? lol
- Why does NBC have a chronicle ready for all to buy on its website…ready to be shipped!
- Why, even after all the attention to swimming, will their still be no Aquaman movie/tv show?
- Why do they call Micheal Phelps Superman when he is a swimmer and not Aquaman?
- WHERE DO I BUY THOSE SPEEDO SWIM SUITS????
Man, Aquaman just can’t get no love!
Ummmm…. I don’t get it. More at High Snob
This t-shirt looks AWESOME!!! I may even buy a couple of them even though I still feel that t-shirts should only cost 15 or 20 bucks, not 30 to 70 dollars, but it looks good enough to pay the amount they want. $39.99 and it won’t be available until the Olympics is over/almost over (08/22/08)
3 different styles available. And you may wanna look at this too. Nice.
When you run, swim and just all around move 6 days a week, you need energy and that is what one gold winner does; at the rate of 12,000 calories a day.
I remember when I was running track I could eat anything at any time and still want more. I can only imagine what someone who swims through water would want to eat. I know one thing, carbs, carbs and more carbs is what one needs to eat.
What does he eat?
3 fried egg sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions, and mayonnaise
2 cups of coffee
a 5 egg omelet
a bowl of grits
3 slices of French toast with powdered sugar
3 chocolate chip pancakes
And that is just breakfast. Imagine he does all of that and is 6′ 4″ and weighs 185 pounds (I’m 6’2″ and weigh 238 pounds LMAO). I guess you need all of that for being the winningnest (real word?) Olympic medal winner EVAAARRRR!!!
Does this mean that the movie Aquaman will actually become a reality due to all this swimming fever? Ladies, he is single.
As seen on WNBC news New York
Here in NYC there was a “special” report on sneakers. It looks like I wasn’t the only one who wanted to take a look at what the people in the Olympic are wearing on their feet. Anyway here is a sneaker that the row boat team (or somebody who is suppossed to be on the water) will be wearing. No laces, all zippers lol
Here are the details from the adidas shop site:
adiStar SailingSet sail single-handedly in these shoes that are light and supportive so you can ride the water. A neoprene upper with TPU bands keeps you in command. The wind never met such a match.
- 3mm neoprene upper provides warmth, unrestricted movement and sock-like feel during summer sailing

- Optimal for RS:X, Laser, Finn Olympic classes
- Speed Heel featuring RadialCurve contours, sculpted heel and midfoot for secure grip on wet decks

Source: Shop adidas
Its not a sneaker I think people will wear on the streets of NYC, but it does have style. Plus, its an odd thing to add to your sneaker collection, but that’s what makes you different. 🙂
The adiStar Sailing costs $75. Plenty of sizes available… of course lol
Olympic 2008 Opening Ceremonies
The Olympics have started and soon we will be seeing all the athletes footwear styles and designs. What will they wear, whats on it, why, where can you get it, and so forth will be here (to some extent… I’m only one guy blogging for fun here lol)
I know I won’t be able to watch everything like I used to, but I will be taping stuff and watching the basketball game, swimming, beach volleyball, cycling, and track.
I have seen this sneaker almost 3 to 5 times a day and have been for a while now (and no there were not the same people lol). I am not sure why they are so hot considering that I am sure there have been white and red Air Force One lows before, but I do have to admit they do look really good.
I have not seen them online anywhere except for a couple of sites (like sneakerhead BTW: I never shopped there so buyer beware) and it has only been in grade school (GS) sizes. I know for a FACT that this sneaker is sold in stores such as Footlocker, Finishline and Foot Action in adult sizes in NYC. I may get me a pair since I like them so much and the fact that I don’t have a pair of Air Force Ones (gasp!!! I should close my blog for saying such blasphemy!!! lol).
I don’t know if this is a regional released or a national release in stores only but it is in NYC and I have only seen it in stores. Prices I have seen have been in the betweens the 80 and 90 Bucks.
These look so hot. I am not one of those people who likes solid color sneakers unless they are black or white, but these are nice. My Mom is into New Balance (because they make sneakers that have widths) so I think if I show her these, she will flip for them.
For more info, visit Sneakerfiles.com (and see more shots too)
I like the China Hyperdunks. It is one of the better colorways out. SneakGeekZ gives us all a show of what he got in this video.
Where does he get those wonderful shoes? LOL
I really like the Hyperdunk, but I need a ice colorway. To me this sneaker needs a really cool colorway to go with it. I think most colorways will look horrible on this sneaker, but the one pictured above is hot! Apparently many people think so because this one is all sold out except for one size.
I love the price point for the Hyperdunk. Its a sneaker anyone can get and feel ok playing in too because your not marking up 170 dollar sneakers.
You got your regular Hyperdunk (for $109.99)
or your Olympic Hyperdunks
The Olympics cost more… $124.99
Eastbay did it again! lol They have the brand spanking new Hyperdunks and they also have the Olympic Hyper Dunks as well. They all look nice, but I prefer the non-Olympic ones (except for the China’s and Puerto Rico ones)
Lets see if anybody starts wearing them. I am sure if I go to Great Adventure again that they will show up there, but in the city, I don’t know. I guess I will see over the next 2 weeks.
One thing that has been happening as of late; there will be sneakers that will be sold out, but you never see them on the streets or you will hardly see them. The Air Jordan 23’s are a perfect example. I have not seen anyone wearing the white and red and just now started seeing people wearing the black and red.
Anyway, time will tell.
If you want to see more than your share of Hyperdunk Olympic sneakers, then head over to Nicekicks.com cause they got crazy mad pictures of all type of Hyperdunks for the Olympics. Give them a peak.
My personal favorites are these: (more…)
I am sort of iffy about the whole 6Rings. I like the fact that it looks allot like the AJ11’s (the very same that will release this December as part of the Countdown Pack) but then it sort of goes down hill from there. This colorway looks good though. It just goes to show you that a sneaker (or shoe) can look totally different in another color. Pics from KixandtheCity as seen via The Shoe Game.com
OK. Lets take another look at this shall we? When I first saw this sneaker, I thought to myself, “What in the blue, red, orange and white hell is this?” Now that I have gotten te back info on why the sneaker looks like it does I have the say, “What in the blue, red/orange and white/black hell is this?”
(thanks to nicekicks and opium)
I like… No, I love the idea of mixing art and sneakers. I plan on doing something really special for Sneakers and Shoes for 2009 and beyond when it comes to art and… what do you call those guys who work on shoes?
Anyway, the Air Jordan 7 has a unique colorway that is based off of the art of Milo. the connection is that Micheal Jordan was wearing the 7’s when he won Olympic Gold in Barcelona Spain of which is where Milo is based. Oh and the artist himself pass away a few months before the Olympics started.
Take a look at this:
Yes… you see it right, you are not dreaming
You see? That is Woman and Bird by Milo. Looks familiar? The AJ7 practically looks like the artwork.
With all the info above in mind and me really loving the idea behind the sneaker, I still feel like this: (more…)
Nicekicks was their and all I can say is that I wish I remembered that this was going down. I would have went and took a few pictures of my own. Anyway, unless for some reason you don’t go to Nicekicks on the daily like I do, you probably saw all the pictures. Nike represents, but adidas is also represented (as well as Superman lol)
One thing I have to say is, why is Nicekicks being stingy? Let all of us have that wallpaper:
1280×1024 and 1024×768 (I think its 768) please lol.
As seen on The Shoe Game.com, this is yet another colorway of many for the Air Jordan 1 sneaker. This year alone must have seen more than 15 different colorways. The only thing I can think of is that Jordan is paying homage to what started it all. I know one thing, I spend 400 dollars on Air Jordan One’s this year!!! I am defiantly trying to stop buying them. I’m way over my sneaker budget and I am still seeing Jordans, Nikes, Creative Recreations, Pumas and other sneakers I want/need to get.
What is a budding sneaker head to do? lol
Anyway, these are made for the kiddies (and anyone that can put their feet in kid size sneakers), so if you got feet that are bigger than a 6, them you maybe out of luck.
It looks like Nike and Puma are seeing stars. Infor on the Bode:
This casual Puma features the cartoon creation of late artist Vaughn Bodé. Comes laced with three colors of shoelaces with the star pattern of the Cheech Wizard’s hat. The interior of the shoe features the star print and Cheech Wizard sits on the tongue replacing the Puma cat logo.
As for the Nike Trackstar style, is all about bicycle riding becoming a new Olympic sport:
IF YOU DON’T ALREADY KNOW, BMX RACING IS GOING TO BE IN THE OLYMPICS THIS YEAR. NIKE SB DECIDED TO DO A LITTLE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR ALL THE OLD SCHOOL BMX FANS OUT THERE. HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF THE TRICKSTAR PACK. DQM LENT A HELPING HAND IN THE DESIGN PROCESS, THEREFORE WE ARE GOING TO BE RECEIVING THEM A LITTLE EARLY. IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE STORY BEHIND THESE YOU SHOULD SCROLL DOWN AND READ THE POST ABOUT THE “MOST EXPENSIVE BIKE EVER MADE.

Now that is hot. The Shoe Game as even more shots of what will be an obvious collectible for the ages. I may be just getting into the sneaker game, but I know that these will be something to have in the sneaker collection.
By the way, I bought these:
For those who want lots of pictures of them, be sure to come back here. While the color I bought may not be the most popular, but I like them and its fits my style lol
Not only does the rainbow lead to a Air Jordan 6, but when you get there you will only find limited sizes left. There may be allot of people (including me) who did not like this sneaker too much (although I will admit, thanks to SneakGeekz, after seeing the video they do look pretty good), but they sure are selling out.
Could be those same speculators (who cause the housing mess) who think people will buy these for more than the store asking price so they bought 10 each and went straight to eBay. Anyway, while Finishline is almost sold out, Eastbay has the usual suspects left (sizes 7 – 13).
Wanna see the video? Here it is:
So the choice is yours. do you want to get this? I am not going to get it, but if you are a real Jordan Head then I would highly advise you get this sneaker. Hell, even I should get them considering that I am supposed to be starting my massive sneaker collection (and diecast cars too, but that is another story)
Here is the description from Eastbay (since they currently have the most sneakers available):
Taking inspiration from the heritage of the AJ X, the Jordan Olympic 6 will provide the ultimate experience in a player’s quest for perfection. Named after one of the greatest events worldwide, this pair of kicks is made with a combination of rich leathers and suede, plus a foam-backed internal booty system that provides a snug, high-performance fit. The midsole is comprised of full-length Phylon™ with Zoom Air™ units for superior cushioning. The outsole is solid rubber with anatomically correct flex grooves for excellent traction.
So will you get history? Lawd knows June 2008 is gonna be a hot month for Jordan releases. My wallet is gonna be screaming at me.
Message to Brand Jordan… you are killin’ me with the patent leather. Please don’t put it on everything and everywhere LOL
What is your opinion (as you already know mine) of Brand Jordan releasing this sneaker? If it was a limited release (or super limited release) would you want it?
For more info (and pictures) check out the post on The Shoe Game.com. And the opinions there are… interesting. lol
For more pictures of the original AJ7 Olympics (and others), check out Nicekicks.com
Call it the Rainbow Jordan, or call it Gay pride… whatever, the bottom line is that after seeing the video from SneakGeekz aka MaplewoodBootCamp made this look good. I’m telling you for real, these sneakers looked like colorful crap from almost every picture I saw. The Shoe Game showed some pictures that look better but then I saw that thing on the toe and wondered why in the hell did Jordan put it on there.
You see that thing on the toe? what is that? Imma goona have ta look that up. someone has got to explain why this thing is there and what it means. There has to be some meaning behind it.
Also, in case you didn’t see, this thing has so much patent leather that it will literally will turn into one big wrinkle after wearing it LOL.
Ok, ok, the sneaker does look good, I’m just very upset at this emblem at the toe. The video makes it look like it won’t be so bad when its on your feet, but I guess I will have to see for myself.
Did you here him talk about the Cool Grey Spiz’ikes? did he say they wanted 4000 for it or 400? Either is pretty steap (but 400 is at least a item that can be fit into someones budget… but not 4000!!! That’s a trip for 4 to Florida!!!)
